In this series of short guides, we'll show you how easy it is to get started with GeckoCapture. We'll cover everything from building and sharing your first form, setting it up on your mobile device with our app, how to manage your responses and lastly, how to sync them with your CRM.

This is a beginners course and we'll keep it as simple as possible!

Building a form

Welcome to GeckoCapture. It's time to build our very first form!

Firstly, click Forms on the left-hand menu. This will open a list of all of the forms already created on your account. As we're building our first form, click +New Form in the top right-hand corner.

This brings us to the form designer page.

To rename your form, click on 'Your form title' and type in your desired title.

To add Contact Fields or Form Fields to your form (read more on the difference here), simply click on them. By default you'll need to add a Contact Field 'Full Name' and 'Email' in order for Gecko to create a contact or match to any existing contact.

You can rearrange your field order once they're on your form designer by hovering the mouse over the field you want to move, clicking on the cross icon and dragging and dropping. To clone or delete a field on your form, hover over the field and click on the clone or trash can icon on the right.

You'll notice that there are a lot of different Form Fields you can use. We've written a short guide on each individual field does here

A great habit to get in to is to hit Save after adding each form field. Not only will it mean not losing any progress if you leave the page, it'll also allow you to edit the settings for the fields on your form designer, and add conditions or integrations. To enter the settings for each field, hover the mouse over the field and click on the pencil icon.

Once you're happy with your form, it's time to share it. Click the Share tab at the top left of the form designer, and click the Sharing Link URL. The link will be unique to your form and enable others to fill out your form. Your form is now available to use on your mobile app or to share on any of your social media or institution website pages.

...and that's it. Really; It's that simple.

Play around with forms and get a feel for what works best for you. You’ll quickly see the different functionalities that fields offer which will get easier to use the more you practice.

In the next article in this series, we look at how to set up your form to work on our offline data capture app, Capture
