We've released an update that replaces one of our sub-processors with an internal methods of uploading and storing attachments in the system. Watch this video to find out more:

This update also introduces a new option for securing attachments uploaded through the file uploads field on the form:

Files uploaded with the secure option enabled will only be viewable from within Gecko, which means that if you sync or export them you won't be able to access the attachments through the URL.

As per an update in May 2022; all File fields added to any Gecko Forms going forward will have Secure Attachments toggled on. This can be changed on a form/form basis.

Additional information:

  • The maximum file size limit is 5 GB.

  • Whilst .exe files are prohibited from being uploaded, all other file types are accepted.

As part of this update we will be migrating all your existing files to their new location and updating all URLs that used to point to their destination to link to the newer location within our infrastructure. This means that next time you export responses from a form with attachments collected in it, you will notice the URLs being different. Additionally, if you've been syncing attachments to your CRM , and you intend to continue accessing the files that were uploaded in the long term, we would recommend resyncing the responses from Gecko to ensure that the URLs are updated to reflect their new location.

We will be disabling the existing file uploads storage on the 30th of June, which means that any files still stored within the older location will no longer be accessible via the older URLs.
