Unique to GeckoProtect users, the consent field is a brilliant solution which allows you to easily collect and control consent from students in a format optimised for both web and mobile forms.

In this article, we'll cover how to set up your field and the benefits of using it.

The consent field is an elegant approach to both displaying your institutions' privacy policy, as well as a means by which you can quickly and easily collect consent for future actions.

For users with GeckoProtect as part of their package, the consent field can be added to your form with a click; simply open your form, click on Form Fields, scroll to the bottom and choose + Consent

By default, three consent reasons are listed in checkbox format. Email, Call and SMS. These options can be changed on a per-form or global basis

Hover the mouse over the field and click Edit

Here you can add a rich-text supported Short Statement to appear above you consent reasons. Hyperlinks are also supported. You're also able to make this field Required, or to Hide Privacy Statement, which mimics how the consent field appears on the Capture app by nesting your Privacy Policy in a clickable text box in the bottom-right corner of the consent field:

Navigating to the Options tab allows you to customise which consent options will display on your field. Options and their description can be created / modified in Settings > Data Security Preferences > Consent Reasons.
