The Display list skill comes into its own as a way to give clearly defined options to help streamline the conversation with your student.
To add a new Display list skill, head to Bots > Skills > + Create skill and be sure to click the Display list card.
To get started, give your new skill an easy to remember Skill title to help identify it in future answers.
Now set a Message to be displayed when this skill is triggered. You can even use template tags here to include any information you already hold in a custom contact field, such as the name of the student your GeckoBot is speaking to:
Each list can display up to three separate options. All that's left for us to do is to pick how to denote each option, and to choose what happens when an option is picked.
To start setting this up, click + Add a list option. You'll see a new option added to the list. Clicking this newly added blank card will let you customise the following:
Label: set the text that displays for this option when listed.
From there, pick one of the following three actions to trigger when your option is selected:
URL: choose which webpage to direct the student to if this option is picked. (note: this field supports URLs as well as mailto:, SMS:, and tel: HTML tags)
Invoke Answer: pick a pre-made answer to trigger if a student picks this option.
Invoke Skill: pick a pre-made skill to trigger when a student picks this option.
When you're happy with your configuration, be sure to click Save skill.
