Please note: only users with GeckoCapture as part of their package will be able to make use of this skill.

The Gecko form skill allows students to be guided through any form, question-by-question. This means that crucial forms can be completed and workflows triggered via SMS, live-chat or even Facebook messenger.

To begin with, ensure GeckoChat is integrated with your GeckoEngage account. Among other things, integrating allows the GeckoBot to pull through all of your forms. There's a handy guide here to help get set up.

When you're ready, head to Bots > Skills > + Create skill, before clicking the card for the Gecko form skill.

Choose to give your skill an easily recognisable title so we can easily find it when creating an Answer, before picking which form you'd like your GeckoBot to walk your student through in the Choose a Gecko form dropdown.

Now set a Confirm message. It's good practice to use this message to let the student know that, whilst they're running through the Gecko form skill, they'll be unable to ask any other questions.

The Exit message lets you give closure on the skill and inform students that they're free to ask other questions.

With our opening and closing statements carefully curated, let's take an in-depth look at how the GeckoBot walks through your form.

Configuring your fields

The number of fields you see in the Configure fields section will vary depending on how long your form is.

GeckoChat will pull through the field and Label for each field on your form. Clicking an individual field will allow you to customise how your GeckoBot introduces the question to the student using the Form skill

If there are any compatibility issues with fields on your form being displayed by the GeckoBot, these will be clearly labelled at the bottom of the Configure fields section. Please note that the following field types are currently not supported: Consent, File, Form Section, Matrix, Media, Organisation, Repeatable & Text block fields.

Once you're happy with how your GeckoBot will take students through your form, be sure to click Save skill before continuing.
