Repeat events are a great way to quickly create carbon copies of your event across multiple dates:

This article will walk you through everything you need to know for recurring events to become a reality.

Getting Started

  • Step one: Build your event.

When you Repeat your event, we will clone everything: settings, workflows, hosts, images, locations, sessions. In fact, the only thing we won't clone is the attendees themselves! (each cloned event is created with no attendees in it). If the event you'd like to copy has already passed, don't panic - you are also able to Repeat any previous event.

  • Step two: Get recurring!

Navigate to the Events page and find the event you'd like to repeat. Click the Actions button and select Repeat this event

Simply pick the dates you'd like to clone your event over. There is no cap to the number of events you can create using this functionality. Hit Next to proceed, before clicking Create Events when you're happy to continue.

All we ask is that you kindly leave the Repeat Event window open while we clone and time-travel your event en masse.

One thing to consider is how Gecko treats daylight saving across timezones. If the event that you are repeating has a generic timezone (i.e. Etc/ GMT +1) then Gecko will not adjust event/session times for daylight savings. With that in mind, if your events fall across different daylight savings times, you may have a repeated event which should start at 10:00 AM suddenly starting at 09:00 AM, or vice versa.

To prevent this, we strongly recommend choosing a region/ city specific timezone (i.e. Europe / Amsterdam) for your event. In selecting a specific location, we can ensure that your event starts at the correct time, irrespective of daylight savings changes.
