Taking payments through forms

3 min read - Add Chargeable Items to your forms and start taking payments through Gecko.

Payments are taken through Forms in Gecko. Once you've connected your payment provider and created your Chargeable Items, you can bring everything together in your form.

Setting up payments on your form

Build your form as normal, adding any fields you'd like your contacts to complete. Then head to Settings > Payment Settings.

From here:

  • Select your Payment Provider

  • Choose the appropriate payment integration from those connected to your account

  • Add the Chargeable Items you'd like included

  • Save your changes

💡 Your selected payment integration determines the currency used on the form

What does the person paying see?

When someone completes your form, Gecko builds their payment basket as they progress. Before being redirected for payment, they'll see an Order Summary containing their selected items and total amount due.

When they click Proceed to Payment, they'll be redirected from Gecko to your connected Flywire or TouchNet environment to securely complete their payment.

The information requested during the payment process itself is controlled through your Flywire or TouchNet setup.

Tracking the payment in Gecko

Once the form has been submitted, open the response to view its payment information.

You'll be able to see:

  • Payment Status - The current status of the payment.

  • Transaction ID - The reference that allows you to match the Gecko payment with the corresponding transaction in FlyWire or TouchNet.

  • Last Updated - When the payment status was most recently updated in Gecko.

Payment statuses automatically update in Gecko as the payment progresses with your payment provider. This means you don't need to manually update the Gecko response when a payment is completed or fails.
