Want to learn how to start using Gecko's mass email and texting functionality in a matter of minutes? You're in the right place!

In this quick start guide, Michelle walks you through how to get set up. Not only will you learn how to send out a mass email so that students can see all of the upcoming events, but also how to set up an SMS follow-up if the email doesn't deliver so the student can update their details!

Step 1: Building a broadcast

πŸ’‘ Before jumping into creating your broadcast, you'll need to build an Email/SMS template and set up an Email sender/SMS number!

  • Log into Gecko and head to Broadcasts > + New Broadcast

  • Give your broadcast a title

  • Select your broadcast type (Email or SMS)

  • Select if you'd like the broadcast to run now, later, or as part of a campaign

  • Click Next


Step 2: Adding contacts

  • Navigate to the Select Contacts tab

  • Select your relevant conditions

  • Hit Refresh to view the list of contacts that meet the specified conditions

  • Once you've reviewed your contacts, click Next

Step 3: Workflows

  • Go to the Workflows tab and click Add Workflow

  • Add your workflow condition(s)

  • Add an action to your workflow

  • Hit Next

Step 4: Launching your broadcast

  • Go to the Launch tab and review the number of contacts and time of delivery

  • Click Launch

  • Navigate to the Overview tab to review how many contacts received the broadcast

  • Click Stats to view more in-depth broadcast analytics
