πŸ’‘ What is this? A lightning-quick guide to learning Gecko's event capabilities.

πŸ”Ž Who is it for? Users who want to start building and sharing events from Gecko but aren't interested/don't need to learn how the entire system works.

Want to learn how to start using Gecko events in a matter of minutes? You're in the right place!

In this quick start guide, Michelle helps you set up your first event. You'll learn how to create an event, the fastest and easiest ways to add students in, and automatically send a personalized RVSP ticket to everyone who signs up!

Step 1: Creating your first event

  • Head to Events > + New Event

  • Give your event a Title

  • Select Start & End Date

  • Select the Type & Category of your event

  • Add your Location

  • Click Save Changes to generate your event

Step 2: Send a personalized RSVP ticket

  • Click into Workflows > + New Workflow

  • Leave Conditions blank if you want everyone to receive the email

  • Add an Action to send an Email to the contacts' email address with your template that contains the mail merge tag {{events.rsvp_link}}

  • Select Sender + Ignore Consent Preferences + Add Action

  • Save Changes to set your workflow live

Step 3: Adding students to your event

Adding students via the event field

  • Head to Forms > + New Form

  • Add in relevant fields

  • Select Form Fields + Event Field and add your event

  • Click Update on the field + Save Changes

Adding students via workflow

  • Click into the Workflows tab on your form + Add Workflow

  • Leave Conditions blank if you'd like everyone that fills out the form to be automatically added

  • Add Action to Add Contact to Event + Select your event and Status

  • Click Save Changes to set the workflow live
